FLAG PATTERN BREAKOUT ON $SCTY – SOLAR CITY

Trading is one of the hardest things to learn. In the beginning you will make numerous mistakes, and without making mistakes and having losing trades you will not progress and learn as a trader. It took me a while to start recognizing different patterns in the market each day. After a while you will start to see some of the same setups repeat and you will start to learn how to trade those patterns. Here is a video that I  put together for the flag pattern breakout. This is a live trading video, I recorded my desktop live for the first hour of trading while I was trading $SCTY or Solarcity.

I edited the video to help you see how I made the trade from point A to Z,, the entry to the exit and the profit I made. This video will help you see what a Flag pattern breakout is. This is a very common pattern in the market that you see over and over each day. The key is to start recognizing the pattern and understanding when to take the trade. I hope this helps.

FINALLY – MY FIRST LIVE TRADING VIDEO!!

I finally got it made! Recently I have been recording my desktop screen to capture my trading with Snagit by Microsoft. Its a screen capture software and I also signed up for a free trial for Camtasia, which is a video editing software. It took me 3 weeks to edit this video due to work schedule and trying to trade at the same time but I finally got it made.  I have a whole new respect for movie editors!

This video captures two earnings play for Ali Baba and Qualcomm. The video quality is not very good and I just added a few things to the video to explain the trades. Once I get more proficient with the editing software the videos will be better. If  anyone has any recommendation on better software which has better video quality please let me know. Appreciate it!

 

 

SHORTED $FSLR FOR $1,100 IN GAINS

As earnings season winds down soon, there are sill a few notable companies left to report. One of them was First Solar which reported earnings yesterday after the close. $FSLR did not have a good earnings report and it went down more than 10% after market. So today I knew there would be a continuation pattern. The key was getting in the right entry with the SSR rule on. I got squeezed a few times but finally got the right entry and made a little over $1100 today. For all my videos click here

Its been a crazy two days! Yesterday we broke through all time highs but did not close there. Today there were a few earnings play and biotech plays that I traded. One of the things that I need to learn is to stop over trading after I make my profits in the morning. Trade recap for Feb. 20th 2014. Although I made profit today I did not trade well. I should of been a little more patient on my entries, in hind sight potential of a 1k day made $300.

Loss of $600 on $KSU and Profit of $222 on $PBPB and $X

Another VictoryMark Promo and $JRCC – PROFIT OF $40

Today the Victory Mark promotion came out at 9:30am. You can read about my first mishap here. This time I was well prepared but as soon as the stock was confirmed XUII it started running and I could not get a fill. I have Tradeking as my broker and they are REALLY sucking right now! I hope someone from Tradeking reads this. You guys need to update your platform and really get with the program, especially routing and making stocks under $2 cheaper! For swing trading you guys are good because the $4.95 is cheap commission.

Because Tradeking is slow to route orders I missed my my entry at .18 I tried to chase it up to .19 but after that I just gave up because all my orders started getting rejected and Tradeking put XUII as a “non-purchasable stock”! You Ass-holes!

If I would of gotten filled at .18 , XUII closed today at .30. I put my order in for 5,000 shares so if you do the math:

Buy 5000 @ .18

Sell 5000 @ .30

Potential profit of $600 (Tradeking you owe me $600 bucks!)

Well, thats how my morning started. Did a lot of studying today until late afternoon when $JRCC broke out. Earnings play and also coal company, which by the way coal is going up right now. Below is the chart.

Bought 500 @ 2.01

Sold 500 @ 2.09

Profit of $40

JRCC went as high as 2.27 but I got out since I had limited info on this ticker.

 

$EAC- $DRRX – TOTAL PROFIT OF $305 BUT LEFT $125 ON THE TABLE!

AAAAHHH…… That’s how you feel after you take a dump! That’s how I felt after I dumped these shares of $EAC and $DRRX.

DURECT Corporation, a specialty pharmaceutical company, develops pharmaceutical systems technologies based on its proprietary drug delivery technology platforms. Their drug Remoxy is their leading candidate who has been rejected twice by the FDA.

Pfizer ($PFE) is the commercialization partner for Durect. Today Pfizer had their earnings conference call. The conference call would be a good time for Pfizer to mention if DRRX would go a round three with the FDA. Sure enough they seem to be taking steps in that direction.

Remoxy is a drug that addresses a genuine medical need as a tamper-resistant re-formulation of oxycodone given the prevalence of prescription opioid. It is formulated with Durect’s Oradur technology to prevent the painkiller from being crushed and used for inhalation or injection. Dissolving or heating the medication does not cause rapid release of the drug either. – Basileus from Seeking Alpha-

If this drug got approved it would be a blockbuster drug. The technology is one of a kind and would prevent abuse of the drug with its tamper resistant formulation. The market potential could be up to 1.5 Billion. I bought 500 shares of $DRRX on Friday April 26th for a swing or run up into the conference call for Pfizer earnings. I attended the conference call today but unfortunately they did not mention anything about Remoxy until the Q&A started and one of the attendees asked the CEO about the next steps for Remoxy. Sure enough they said “we are taking forward steps” to basically iron out the details that the FDA is looking for. As soon as they said that the stock sky rocketed! It reached a high of 1.85.

Here is a screen shot of the chart today and my trade. I bought 500 at 1.33 and sold at 1.50. I wanted to get out at 1.75 but there was a big pull back and could not get filled. Still a profit is a profit!

Erickson Air Crane was my second trade today. I bought 100 shares last week when it pulled back at $17.68. I would of bought more but I did not have the buying power. @super_trades gave this one in the 17’s and also has a seeking alpha article on it which you can see here. He has this stock going to $30 plus , he is always consistent on his trades, one of the best I know! This was a swing trade for me and I look to get back into this one soon.

So far a good week! If I would of sold DRRX at 1.75 that would of been a extra $125 for a total of $430 today but I came out with $305 and I’am cheesin!
