HOW I CREATE MY WATCHLIST

Someone asked me how I go about finding stocks to trade everyday. I created a brief video on how I find stocks and create a watch list. Since I day trade there are a few factors that are important to me as far as volume, liquidity, price and trend. For a day trader Volume is key since you need to be in and out of a stock quickly, also understanding the trend of where the stock is going, either up or down and once you have your setup you can enter  your trade and exit accordingly. WATCHLIST 7.12.13

S&P is on a rally and looks to continue the run tomorrow. There were a few movers today but overall a quite day.

Here is what I am watching for tomorrow.

 

1. $ISIS – Isis Pharmaceuticals

This stock has been on a rally, looking for a pullback tomorrow for a short play. FDA approved one of its drugs a few weeks ago hence the run up. Dont look for a major dip but some profit taking that could bring it back to the 30 or 31 area.

2. $PGNX – Progenics Pharmaceuticals

Stock broke out of flag for a run. Did not see any news but could run for a second day. Could dip in the morning, look for continuation pattern.

3. $CIEN – Ciena Corporation

Had positive news on company, broke out of its flag on the daily chart. could see day two for more run tomorrow. Or a small pullback.

MISC PLAYS

$FLIR- Flir Systems

Stocks looks overbought on the daily. Earnings coming up on July 25th.

WATCHLIST 7.11.13

S&P closed green for the fifth day straight. Today seemed dull, not much action going on $SPX closed only 30 cents up. Not sure if market is slow due to the summer or Fed meeting coming up, maybe both….

Here is what I am watching for tomorrow.

 

1. $NEON – Neonode Inc.

Stock broke out on yesterday and today it soared. Looking for a pull back for a short. If they have a PR or positive news look for a continuation pattern for a run.

2. $MCP – MolyCorp Inc.

Big breakout today. Gained 16% almost a dollar. Did not see much of a pullback today, so for tomorrow it can conintue to go higher. I am looking for a short at the open, seems like traders may take profits early from today and if dip gets bought it can run higher.

3. $LITB – LightInTheBox Holdings

Had a PR yesterday after hours. Today it broke out almost 14% up a 1.86. Chinese stock, it could run for second day. Look for continuation pattern for a long. If it gaps down premarket then a short setup could work to.

4. $ISIS – Isis Pharmaceuticals

Stock broke out of its flag last week and has been on the up. Today went up 6% or 1.82. There is no resistance as the stock climbs higher. I am waiting for a pullback for a short. Possibly after the bell tomorrow.

5. $P – Pandora Media

Second day down. Sentiment is not looking too good for this stock. June metrics were also not good. If it continues , look for short entry tomorrow.

MISC PLAYS

1. $MDRX – Allscripts Healthcare Solutions

a health care information technology company, jumped as much as 10% after the company announced better-than-expected preliminary second-quarter booking results.

2. $STML – Streamline Therapeutics

Did not see any news but shares are up

3. $NIHD – NII Holdings

Company is bringing Push to Talk feature to US. Its a Latin American stock

 

*Markets looks like its just lingering around. Hopefully things pick up as we head into earnings season.

WATCHLIST FOR 7.10.13

$SPX has been up for the last four days. Today was tough, saw a lot of dumpage on many stocks. $ACAD broke out and $MU tanked, so did a lot of the solars.

 

Here is what I am watching tomorrow.

 

1. $CSIQ- Canadian Solar

Even tough they are finalizing a project and gaining some traction, they are being investigated or sued for accounting practices. The stock dumped but could rebound if they clear up this mess.

2. $CREG – China Recycling Energy Corp.

Its parabolic on the daily chart, this sucker will be a short. look for setup and entry point.

3. $YRCW – YRC Worldwide.

Good PR on this stock and some seeking alpha articles. Over 13% gains today and gained $4 bucks. Looking for a pullback on this one, Be carefull, its a low float stock with only a 7.3MM float.

4. $LEE – Lee Enterprises Inc.

Good PR on this stock, and its been up for last 3 three days. looking for a pullback. Maybe a short on the open if it does not gap up.

5. $MU Micron Technologies

Called this one yesterday. Second down day for $MU, we could see a rebound but with PC and tech sector down. $MU needs some news or new biz to keep it going up. I will be looking for more shorting here.

6. $ZLC – Zale 

I like this stock. It broke out today and should see day two of higher trading. look for another breakout if it hits $9.85

From a technical perspective, ZLC is ripping higher here right above some near-term support at $8.44 with decent upside volume. This move has started to push shares of ZLC into breakout territory, since the stock has taken out some near-term overhead resistance at $9.30. Shares of ZLC are now quickly moving within range of triggering another major breakout trade. That trade will hit if ZLC manages to clear its 52-week high at $9.85 with high volume.

7. $HMA – Health Management Associates

Rumor about a buyout or take over of HMA. Nothing for sure or disclosed. Shares jumped on hype, look for a pullback if no news about solid acquisition. Short play for this one.

8. $TVL – LIN TV Corp.

up for second day. Broke out today, No resistance ahead, should go for another day of gains. This one could run.

 

EARNINGS PLAY

1. $MHR Magnum Hunter Resources

Revenue is up but EPS is down 6 cents.

2. $ADTN – Adtran

Analyst expect EPS of 16 cents, earnings release before market opens

3. $SYRG Synergy Resources Corporation

Earnings before market open.

 

 

 

WATCHLIST FOR 7.9.13

It has been a while since I posted anything, that is because I am going through a transition of new brokers. Currently signed up with a prop firm. In my opinion its so much better than a retail broker if you are day trading. I do have a account with ThinkorSwim and Tradeking but the Prop firm I use has DAS Trader, I love that platform. The speed to execute trades is unbelievably fast! So for now I will stick with DAS and trading with a Prop Firm, who also gives me massive leverage for trading.

 

Here is my watch list for tomorrow.

 

1. CLDX–  Celldex Therapeutics–

The Street has this stock as a sell, This stock plunged today, down 7.8 percent or $1.66. I believe this stock is oversold and we should see a nice bounce tomorrow. Look for a long setup on entry.

2. ACRX-  AcelRx Pharmaceuticals

ACRX broke out today. Looks good on the daily chart. Support is at $10. We could see day two of breakout trading on this one or look for a pullback for a short.

3. VOXX- International Corp.

Set to release earnings on July 10th.  Wall st. and analyst have close numbers that earnings could go either way. Keep a eye on this one in the next day and watch for earnings report for either short or long.

4. CLNT- Cleantech Solutions

It pulled back after it announced earnings potential for 2013. Could possibly see a breakout tomorrow. Held the 20 day moving average.

5. LINE- Linn Energy

There was some talk about their accounting practices, and the stock tanked last week. Its slowly climbing up now, I think it still has room to go up, look for both long and short setups.

6. KNDI- Kandi Technologies Group

Company raised cash and held the dip today after the breakout. Day 2 of breakout, look for long setup

7. MU – Micron Technologies

PC Market has declined and this stock has been on the run. Its flagging now. I am looking for a short if it cracks the $14

 

MISC Plays:

ANAC – There was some inside buying a few weeks ago. stock is up, I am looking for a small pull back.

 

I also always keep a eye on the solars: SPWR, JKS, JASO, RSOL, CSIQ, SCTY, TSL

 

These are the stocks I am watching for tomorrow, will see what plays out and whats happening in pre-market. Look for good entry points and exits.
